A six-bedroom home built around stability, shared purpose, and a practical next step.
The Founder's Purpose
Why Gregory Hansen Founded V-SLH
Retired Technical Sergeant Gregory Hansen founded Veteran Friendly Sober Living House after seven deployments and years of helping with Habitat for Humanity. Those experiences showed him how quickly life can change and how much a steady place to live can matter.
In 2026, he turned his six-bedroom house near Travis Air Force Base in Suisun City into a home for veterans and other men seeking stability in recovery. He added new furniture and appliances and upgraded utilities with a simple question in mind: what kind of second chance would he want for himself?
Gregory hopes the home offers a familiar sense of purpose and belonging alongside clear expectations, an on-site house manager, and a consistent routine. He aims to make housing reasonably priced while welcoming veterans and civilian men. The home provides housing and peer community; it is not a rehab clinic, medical program, or crisis service.
